Why choose Firm Foundations?

Our mission is to provide ethical and effective ABA treatment that brings peace for today, hope for tomorrow, and is grounded in love and care for each individual child and their family.

Our practice was founded by Taylor de Tuya, a BCBA and mother of two, who has served the Miami ASD community for over 8 years. Taylor noticed that many, if not most, ABA providers in Miami would serve hundreds of children at a time. Because of the frequency and intensity of the needs of each client , these high-volume caseloads could often lead to companies sacrificing the quality, effectiveness, and ethics of ABA practices. This, coupled with the high turnover rate of poorly trained technicians, does a disservice to children in need of quality and consistent therapies.

Firm Foundations was created to provide the best ABA services to only a handful families at a time, thus providing a personal connection and a sense of family support that is completely focused on the needs of each individual child.

Our Founder

Taylor de Tuya, M.A., BCBA

Taylor, a Miami native, is a graduate of University of Miami (B.A.) and Ball State University (M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in ASD, c/o 2020).

Prior to working in ABA, Taylor spent time as an elementary school teacher. It is through this classroom experience that she was introduced to the specific needs of children with autism and the science of applied behavior analysis. In 2018, Taylor began working in the field of ABA.

Taylor and her husband have two children; Ella (2020) and Hannah (2023). They enjoy serving the community alongside their local church, Christ Fellowship Miami. It is here that she serves in children’s ministry, small group, and worship.

“Being a parent, in and of itself, is a challenge, but having a child with special needs brings it’s own unique set of challenges. My goal is to support parents of children with ASD, so that the weight of those challenges can seem a little lighter, and the future can seem a little brighter.”

“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

Matthew 7:25
